Ingredients

chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, pounded to even the thickness: 3-4

cup of all-purpose flour: 1/4

teaspoon of salt: 1/4

teaspoon of black pepper: 1/4

teaspoon of garlic powder: 1/2

cup of Parmesan cheese, shredded: 1/3

basil pesto: 1/3 cup

cup of heavy cream: 1

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional)

How To Make Creamy Pesto Chicken

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Take chicken breast pieces and dip in the dry mixture to coat completely. Make sure to flip the sides so that the chicken is sufficiently coated.
  3. Over a medium heat, heat a skillet greased with oil.
  4. Place the chicken pieces and cook each side for almost 5 to 8 minutes until both the sides are cooked through and light brown color is achieved.
  5. Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate and cover with foil.
  6. In the same pan you cooked chicken in, add pesto and sauté it for 1 to 2 minutes over a medium heat until fragrant.
  7. Add heavy cream and stir until it is combined with the pesto.
  8. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Add chicken to the pan and spread Parmesan cheese on the top.
  10. Let the chicken cook until cheese is melted.
  11. Sprinkle freshly chopped basil or parsley.
  12. Serve hot.
