This is just an old-fashioned cream pie recipe. It is one of those simple and honest desserts that just about everyone has tried at one point in time. It contains tons of nostalgia and the aromas of your grandmother’s kitchen. A cream pie is basically a simple pie that has a custard like filling and is topped with cream. Don’t just stop with the cream filling though. This dessert isn’t complete without a scoop of ice cream.

Ingredients

2/3 cup white sugar

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 pinch salt

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 eggs – beaten

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 9-inch single pie crust recipe pastry

How To Make Cream Pie

  • Preheat oven to 425 °
  • Combine sugars, vanilla, flour, salt, cream, and eggs in a large bowl.
  • Mix until smooth.
  • Pour filling into an unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake for 20 minutes in preheated oven.
  • Lower the temperature to 325 °
    • Bake for an additional 20 minutes.
