Chocolate Gujiya

Chocolate gujiya is modern take on one of North India’s Holi sweets. This is definitely a must have for all lovers of chocolate and, well, everybody with a sweet tooth. It is a sweet dumpling filled chock full of chocolate chips and khoya. The rich goodness continues buy deep frying it and then topping the finished product with rich chocolate. Store it in a food storage container to maintain its crispiness.

Ingredients

flour: 1 cup

salt to taste

clarified butter: 3 tbsp

water: 2 tbsp

condensed milk: 2 cups

Sugar: 2 cups

ground cardamom: 1 tsp

Chocolate chips: 1/2 cup

Oil for deep-frying: 3 tbsp

sugar syrup, for dipping: 3 tsp

heavy cream: 1 cup

fine chocolate: 8 oz

How To Make Chocolate Gujiya

Making The Dough:

  1. Mix the flour, salt, and the clarified butter in a bowl. Add a little water and make it to knead dough. Set the bowl aside for 30 minutes.

Making The Filling:

  1. Cook the condensed milk in a pan until the milk becomes brown. Add sugar and cardamom. Cool the milk down a little bit and add some chocolate chips. Mix everything thoroughly.

Making The Gujiya:

  1. Knead the dough once again. Cut it into small pieces and roll out. Place the filling in the middle of the dough. Wet the edges lightly with water. Press the dough firmly and seal all its edges.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan. Fry the gujiyas until golden brown. Cool the gujiyas a little bit.
  3. Mix the cream and chocolate in a bowl. Microwave on low for 2 minutes. Stir the chocolate mixture and set it aside.
  4. Dip the gujiyasin the sugar syrup and place on a plate.
  5. Garnish the gujiyaswith the chocolate mixture and serve at once.
