Chicken Cutlet

Easily a delicious appetizer, a great starter and an awesome snack to go with your hot chai, this chicken cutlet is one of the easiest recipes to make too. Crispy on the outside and tender and soft on the inside, chicken cutlet work well as patties for your burger and roti rolls. With a handful of ingredients, chicken cutlets can be made in about 30 minutes. These cutlets make a great tea time snack, just make sure you make a batch and store them in a casserole or an insulated container and you are all set for a great accompaniment for your hot chai or coffee!

Ingredients

300 g chicken, boiled and minced

½ cup onions, finely chopped

1 medium potato, boiled and mashed

1 green chili, chopped

1.5tsp ginger garlic paste

Coriander leaves

1.5 tsp garam masala

½ cup rice flour

1 egg

Salt, as per your taste

Red chili powder, as per taste

Turmeric, a pinch

3 tbsp oil

How To Make Chicken Cutlet

  1. To a bowl, add the minced chicken, finely chopped onions, mashed potato, chilis, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili powder, turmeric and coriander leaves.

  1. Mix well, while you add rice flour in parts.
  2. Knead well with your hands into a dough consistency.

  1. Roll them into small balls, and flatten them into patties

  1. Beat the egg along with salt to make a batter.

  1. Dip the flattened patties in the egg batter followed by rice flour.
  2. Keep the flour coated aside for 10 – 15 minutes.

  1. Heat oil in a pan.

  1. Fry the cutlets, flip and cook until they turn a nice golden brown color on both the sides.

  1. Serve warm with mint chutney or tomato ketchup and enjoy.
