Ingredients
frozen bread dough: 1 lb
Italian sausage: 1 lb
shredded mozzarella cheese: 3 cup
sliced mushrooms: 2 cups
Large onion (chopped): 1
olive oil: 3 tbsp
diced tomatoes: 1 can
tsp of salt: 1
Dried oregano: 1 tsp
Garlic powder: 1/2 tsp
fennel seeds: 1/4 tsp
freshly grated parmesan cheese: 1 cup
How To Make Chicago Style Pizza
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Roll out and press the dough in a 9x13 inch baking dish, making sure all sides are covered.
- Meanwhile in alarge skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage meat in the olive oil for about 8 minutes or till it is browned. Sprinkle ½ cup of mozzarella cheese over the meat and continue cooking for a minute until the cheese is melted.
- Add in the onions, mushrooms, oregano, tomatoes, salt and fennel seeds to the meat and sprinkle it with parmesan.
- Cook this mixture for a minute more until all flavors are fully incorporated.
- Pour the meat and cheese mixture in the baking dish covered with dough and bake for 35 minutes.
- Remove from the oven when you see the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Serve with garlic bread and enjoy!
