How To Make Carolina Style Hot Dogs

  1. Heat your grill for the hot dogs. Cook them to your liking (charred or not).
  2. Meanwhile, in a large pan on high heat, begin browning your beef. When it begins to brown, add all the seasoning (all the spices listed above) and pour the broth. Keep pouring it on top of the meat so it is coated properly. During this process, make sure you are breaking the beef as much as you can.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium, add in the tomatoes, and let it simmer while you make the cole slaw.
  4. In a large bowl, add the cabbage, red cabbage, carrots, and 1 tablespoon of finely chopped onions.
  5. In a small bowl, add the mayo, cider vinegar, canola oil, and sugar until it is smooth. Pour it on top of the cabbage mixture and mix it well.

For assembling:

  1. Place the grilled hot dogs in the buns, and top it with chili.
  2. Now add the cole slaw and sprinkle with the remaining chopped onions.
  3. Add mustard and ketchup according to your preference.
