All you need is an ice cream machine and a handful of ingredients. You will never prefer store-bought ice cream after you have tried this recipe. It takes a little long, almost a couple of days to prepare but it is completely worth your while.

Ingredients

fresh lemons: 5-6

water: 1 cup

Sugar: 1/2 cup

ice cream machine

How To Make Calvados Lemon Sorbet

For the Syrup

  1. Take a deep pot.
  2. Put it on the stove on low heat.
  3. Add water and sugar into the pot.
  4. Let the mixture cook until all the sugar is dissolved and sweet syrup is prepared as a sweetener for the ice cream. Don’t let the mixture get caramelized. You don’t need it to be too thick.
  5. Once, the mixture is prepared, set it aside until it is needed for the ice cream.

For the Ice Cream

  1. Take a large mixing bowl.
  2. Grate skins of 2 lemons into the mixing bowl.
  3. Juice all the lemons into the mixing bowl.
  4. Make sure you have at least a cup and a half of lemon juice into the bowl.
  5. Add the prepared sweetener into the bowl while it is still steaming hot and mix it up well with the rest of the ingredients in the bowl.
  6. Once the ingredients cool down refrigerate the bowl overnight.
  7. Put the insert of your ice cream machine inside the freezer overnight.
  8. The next day, add the mixture prepared in the bowl into the ice cream machine.
  9. Cover the lid and use the ice cream machine as per the instructions on the ice cream machine manual.
  10. The ice cream should be done in about 20 to 25 minutes.
  11. Once, it is done scoop out the tasty lemon sorbet in your ice cream bowls.
  12. Garnish with cream or vanilla sauce and enjoy!
