Ingredients

grated onion: 1 large or 2 small ones

grated Carrots: 2

vegetable oil: 1 tbsp

powdered Black Pepper: 1 tsp

crushed garlic cloves: 2

tsp dried oregano: 1

minced Beef: 1/2 kg

tomato puree: 1 tbsp

red wine: 1 cup

chopped tomatoes: 5-6

chili sauce: 1 tbsp

milk: 2 tbsp

salt to taste

How To Make Bolognese Sauce

  1. Heat up a non-stick frying pan with vegetable oil.
  2. Fry the grated onions and carrots in it.
  3. As you fry, season the ingredients with salt and pepper. Add the crushed garlic into the pan and fry some more. Add dried oregano and let it cook for about 2 minutes while you stir it at medium heat. Sauté until the vegetables turn slightly brown.
  4. Now, add the minced beef in the centre of the pan and sauté it well until it cooks. Add a tablespoon of tomato puree into the mixture.
  5. Once all the spices are well blended in the pan, add red wine and let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
  6. Now, add chopped tomatoes to the mix in the pan, blend them well as you stir and let them cook for a few minutes.
  7. Add a tablespoon of chili sauce into the pan to make the mixture spicy and let it simmer for 5 to 6 minutes.
  8. Add milk and blend it well with the rest of the mixture.
  9. Sauté it all until it gains a soft and silk texture.
  10. Serve it with your favorite Pasta!

Trivia

  • Bolognese Sauce comes from Bologna – hence the name. However, they only serve it in lasagna unlike many other countries that have expanded the sauce’s uses and now have it with various delicacies.

It is made with easily available ingredients because, when it was first invented in Italy, the home cooks did not have access to any ingredients other than the ones grown in that part of the world.
