Ingredients

all-purpose flour: 2/3 cup

cornstarch: 1/3 cup

baking powder: 1/4 tsp

baking soda: 1/4 tsp

pinch salt

Large eggs: 2

Sugar: 1/2 cup

pure vanilla extract: 1 tsp

Red food coloring

confectioners' sugar: 1/2 cup

How To Make Biscuits de Roses de Reims

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line a parchment paper or a silicone baking mat over a baking dish.
  3. Whisk the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
  4. With an electric beater, beat the egg whites at a medium speed.
  5. Add in half of the sugar, and increase the speed of the electric beater. Stir until well combined.
  6. Now in another bowl add in the vanilla extract, the remaining sugar, and egg yolks. Beat thoroughly until the mixture is frothy and thick.
  7. Add enough food coloring to make the batter pink.
  8. Now with the help of a spatula mix together both the mixtures until well blended. Make sure that the mixture is soft and thick.
  9. Scrape the batter into a piping bag, with about 1 inch of opening from the top.
  10. Pipe out the batter in the shape of a cookie on the baking dish. Now sift confectioners’ sugar generously over the cookies.
  11. Bake the cookies in the oven for about 20 minutes until they are firm.
  12. Turn off the heat and let the biscuits dry for at least 30 minutes to up to an hour.
  13. Serve and enjoy!
