Besan Halwa

Besan Halwa

Made from gram flour or besan, besan ka halwa is a delicious, mouth-watering hot pudding that can be served with breakfast. There are two things to keep in mind when making this rich, flavoursome dessert: one, roast the besan well to avoid a raw taste, and two, stir constantly to achieve the desired consistency and to prevent the mix from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

A generous helping of desi ghee and the addition of nuts will enhance the nutritional value and taste. This popular easy-to-make recipe yields large servings and is well suited for any festive occasion.
