Ingredients

lemon Juice: 1 tbsp

oil: 2 tbsp

salt to taste

fillets—washed and sliced: 6 fish

red chilli: 1 tbsp

mustard powder: 1 tsp

turmeric paste: 1 tsp

green chilis: 4

Chopped coriander leaves: 1 tbsp

Garlic powder: 1 tbsp

leaf: 1 bay

small onions--chopped: 4

ginger: 1 tbsp

How To Make Bengali Fish Curry

  1. Marinate fish with salt, turmeric paste, and lemon juice and let sit for 20 minutes.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, drizzle some oil and splutter mustard. Once the popping sounds dwindle, add bay leaf, onion, chilies, garlic and ginger and saute for a minute.
  3. Add marinated fish fillets and fry for a few minutes, turn the fillets over and fry until the fish is evenly cooked through.
  4. Turn off the heat, garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice or flatbreads.
