Foods to Avoid if you have Recurring Acne

It is a fact that external factors like dust, sunrays and traffic pollutants can cause acne and pimples. However, many people are either unaware or ignore that what they eat can cause this skin to breakout too and at times the damages can be severe. Acne can also be a sign of an underlying problem. Hence, many doctors advise to watch what you eat. Healthy skin is as important as a healthy gut.

Sugar

This has to be at the top of the list because both processed or natural sugars can flare up the existing skin problems. While not all the skin types are affected easily, it is good to avoid any sweets and pastries made of refined sugar. Sugar is known to cause hormonal imbalance, and that is first shown in our face. You can replace sugar with honey. However, dermatologists also recommend keeping the honey consumption to the minimum.

Fermented Drinks

Now, this is going to be a challenge for a lot of people. Sodas and sweet beverages are part of regular diet in many homes. These drinks are laden with sugar that will not only rot your teeth but also aggravate acne. Like eating, drinking refined sugar content will affect our insulin levels causing the skin to get irritated, and the acne will be hard to treat. If you want to kill the craving for fermented drink, there is a better option, apple cider vinegar. It contains natural anti-histamine and nutritional supplement which is perfectly healthy for your body. You can use it internally and externally too.

French Fries

While there is no direct proof, this favorite food item is included on the bad food list for a good reason. French fries are actually greasy. They are high in carbohydrates, fat, and calories. These ingredients can easily trigger acne even for the healthiest people, especially for those who have oily skin.
