Ingredients

Campanella pasta – dry: 8 oz

pepperoni stick –1/8 in thick and sliced: 5 oz

bulk Italian sausage: 8 oz

packages button mushrooms –sliced: 2

cup onion, diced: 1/2

tbsp garlic – minced: 1

tsp Italian seasoning: 2

tsp red pepper flakes: 1/2

can crushed tomatoes: 1

salt and pepper

can black olives – sliced: 1

fresh mozzarella cheese – thinly sliced: 8 oz

cup shredded Parmesan: 1/4

thinly sliced fresh basil

How To Make Pizza Pasta Bake

  1. Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling water.
  2. Drain the pasta.
  3. Preheat broiler to high with rack 6-8 inches from heating element.
  4. Sauté pepperoni in a large sauté pan over medium high heat until it begins to crisp.
  5. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate.
  6. Brown the sausage in pepperoni drippings.
  7. Transfer sausage to a separate paper towel lined plate.
  8. Sauté mushrooms in sausage drippings until they are browned.
  9. Add onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, and pepper flakes.
  10. Cook 1 minute more.
  11. Stir in tomatoes and cook until it thickens slightly.
  12. Stir in cooked pasta, sausage, and olives.
  13. Layer mozzarella over casserole and top with pepperoni.
  14. Broil casserole until cheese is browned and bubbly.
  15. Sprinkle Parmesan over the top of the casserole and garnish with basil.
  16. Serve and enjoy!
