Ingredients
palak leaves: 10
besan: ½ cup
turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
chilli powder: ½ tsp
caraway seeds: ½ tsp
chat masala: ½ tsp
salt to taste
rice flour: 1 tbsp
pinch of baking soda (optional): 1
water as required to prepare batter
oil for deep frying
How To Make Palak Pakora
- Combine the besan, turmeric powder, chilli powder, ajwain, chat masala, salt and rice flour in a mixing bowl.
- Mix well.
- Add a pinch of baking soda (optional).
Note: It makes your pakoda fluffy.
- Add water slowly to make a smooth batter.
- Dip the whole palak leaves into batter. Coat with batter on both sides.
- Slowly deep fry by dropping into the hot oil.
- Stir occasionally.
- Fry till they turn crisp and golden brown.
- Remove the pakodas to a paper towel to drain.
- Serve hot with masala chai and tomato ketchup.
