Ingredients

vegetable oil for frying

1 egg - beaten

1/3 cup milk

4 (6 oz) fillets cod

2 tbsp all-purpose flour for coating

2 cups quick-cooking oats

salt and pepper to taste

How To Make Oat Crusted Fish

  • Over medium-high heat, heat the oil in a large skillet.
  • In a bowl, whisk egg and milk.
  • Coat cod fillets with flour. Shake the excess flour.
  • Dip cod in egg mixture. Remove the excess mixture.
  • Coat cod with oats.
  • Fry one fish at a time in hot oil for about 2 1/2 minutes.
  • Turn it over, and cook for another 2 1/2 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
