Chicken Seekh Kabab

Chicken Seekh Kababs are tender, savory, and textured grilled kababs that have a charm of their own. The word ‘seekh’ in Hindi means “skewer”. Chicken seekh kababs are made from minced, flavored chicken, threaded onto skewers and grilled golden brown. They are crispy, moist, and succulent.  Seekh kababs belong to the Mughlai cuisine of India and make a nutritious and delicious starter for every occasion.

Ingredients

lb chicken : 1

tbsp olive oil or butter: 1

tsp garlic minced: 1

tsp ginger grated: 1

medium-sized onion finely chopped: 1

tsp green chili finely chopped: 1

tbsp fresh coriander: 2

tbsp lemon juice: 1

tsp red chili powder: 1/2

tsp garam masala: 1

tsp chaat masala: 1

tsp coriander powder: 1/2

tsp salt: 1 1/2

tsp bread crumbs: 1

How To Make Chicken Seekh Kabab

  • Wash the chicken and chop into medium-sized chunks. Grind all chicken, garlic, ginger, onion, and green chili in a blender.
  • Transfer to a large bowl and add chaat masala, garam masala, salt, bread crumbs, coriander powder, half of the oil or butter, and chili powder to it. Mix well and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 225 degree Celsius for 5 minutes.
  • Wet your hand and shape the chicken mixture around a skewer, like a log. Press the mixture firmly around the skewer.
  • Brush the chicken seekh kababs with oil or butter. Grill for 10 minutes until chicken is cooked.
  • Remove from the skewers and serve hot.

Note: The chicken seekh kababs can be cooked on a pan also instead of grilling.
