Ingredients

oz solid cheddar cheese, grated cold.: 3

cup butter (softened): 1

cups all purpose flour (sifted): 4

tsp salt: 2

Pinch of black pepper

Pinch of cayenne pepper

tsp garlic powder: 1/4

How To Make Cheese Straws

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 °F.
  2. In an electric mixer bowl, add in the softened cheddar cheese and use the paddle attachment.
  3. Beat the cheese for 15 minutes until it reaches a whipped cream like consistency.
  4. Add 3 cups of flour along with salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper and garlic powder.
  5. Add the seasoned four into the cheddar cheese one large spoonful at a time and beat well after every addition.
  6. Add the rest of the flour on in the cheese dough and make sure it reaches a stiff yet still partly soft consistency.
  7. Grease 4 cookie sheets by spraying some cooking spray.
  8. Put some cheese dough on the cookie sheet, press and Make long strips.
  9. Repeat this process until the baking tray is full.
  10. Bake the straws for 20-25 minutes and until they reach a golden brown color.
  11. Cut the strips into the desired length.
  12. Wait for them to cool off on a rack.
  13. Serve with soup or enjoy on its own as a snack.
